Santa Fe Indian Market.  The 89th Annual Santa Fe Indian Market is scheduled for August 21-22, 2010.  Held each year on the third Thursday in August over a long weekend, the Santa Fe Indian Market brings together 1200 of the most gifted Native American artists from about 100 tribes who display their work in over 600 booths. The Market is coordinated by the Southwestern Association for Indian Arts and is a place where established and emerging Indian artists come forward and celebrate their craft and hard work.  The event attracts over 100,000 visitors, buyers, collectors and gallery owners to Santa Fe from all over the world for this rare opportunity to meet and purchase directly from the artists.  Quality is the hallmark of the Santa Fe Indian Market

SANTA FE AREA EVENTS 

SUMMER IS HERE!  Locals and visitors alike have been looking forward to those gorgeous 60+ degree temperatures and sunny skies. Summer in Santa Fe provide a wonderful opportunity to experience Santa Fe’s cultural and historic uniqueness along with crisp clean nights and all those stars -- the makings of an unforgettable adventure for friends and families to connect with each other and with nature.  Warm weather and sunny days bring countless recreational opportunities from mountain biking, hiking, horseback riding, or golfing at one of the cities excellent courses.  And, if you are an opera lover, it is also your favorite time to be in Santa Fe for the annual Santa Fe Opera season which begins in late June and last until late August.  The Santa Fe Desert Chorale's summer festival also runs during this time.  If you are an art enthusiast the Whitehawk Ethnographic Art Show and the 32nd Annual Whitehawk Invitational Antique Indian Art Show in August is a collectors delight as is the Santa Fe Indian Market.  Also scheduled in August at the Genoveva Chavez Community Center is the Sixth Annual Santa Fe Pow Wow.  The pow wow for all Nationas and cultures includes singers, dancers, drummers and artist booths.
