The 89th Annual Santa Fe Indian Market is scheduled for August 21-22, 2010. Held each year on the third Thursday in August over a long weekend, the Santa Fe Indian Market brings together 1200 of the most gifted Native American artists from about 100 tribes who display their work in over 600 booths. The Market is coordinated by the Southwestern Association for Indian Arts and is a place where established and emerging Indian artists come forward and celebrate their craft and hard work. The event attracts over 100,000 visitors, buyers, collectors and gallery owners to Santa Fe from all over the world for this rare opportunity to meet and purchase directly from the artists. Also scheduled in August at the Genoveva Chavez Community Center is the Sixth Annual Santa Fe Pow Wow. The pow wow for all Nationas and cultures includes singers, dancers, drummers and artist booths.
