Santa Fe Indian Market. Held each year on the third Thursday in August over a long weekend, the Santa Fe Indian Market brings together 1200 Native American artists from about 100 tribes all over the country who display their work in over 600 booths. The Market is coordinated by the Southwestern Association for Indian Arts and is a place where established and emerging Indian artists come forward and celebrate their craft and hard work.  The event attracts over 100,000 visitors, buryers, collectors and gallery owners to Santa Fe form all over the world for this rare opportunity to meet and purchase directly from the artists.  Quality is the hallmark of the Santa Fe Indian Market. [Top]

Other Santa Fe Plaza Events. There’s always something going on in the Santa Fe Plaza. In June, strap on your spurs and head out for the Rodeo de Santa Fe, which is launched with a parade and the crowning of the Santa Fe Queen. And in July, there’s the annual Traditional Spanish Market, where local artists show off their work and revelers enjoy music and food, Spanish style. The Balloon Fiesta, in October, is held over several days in Albuquerque and celebrates the beauty and excitement of hot air ballooning.  [Top]
